Earlier this year, I had the privilege of photographing a maternity session for a wonderful couple. It was such a joy to document that part of their journey, and even more meaningful when they had me back to capture the arrival of their little one with an in-home newborn photoshoot in Uxbridge, ON.

There’s something truly amazing about photographing newborns in the comfort of their own home. It allows families to relax and enjoy those first quiet moments together, creating the perfect setting for natural and candid photos. From cozy cuddles to the tiniest details—little toes, fingers, and sleepy smiles—each photo felt like a beautiful reflection of their growing family. As a mom myself, I can relate deeply with the delight of capturing the very real and raw moments or parenthood you don’t want to forget.

Witnessing the transition from expecting parents to holding their newborn in their arms is truly magical. There’s a quiet beauty in these first moments—filled with love, exhaustion, and joy—that I feel grateful to document. Being a part of this new chapter in their story was an incredible honour, and I’m so thankful to play a small part in preserving memories they’ll cherish for years to come.
